Have the student go through the text book and select a people who are nmentioned in the history of Louisiana. Have them create an index card sized study of that person. On the face of the card they will draw the person, put their name and their birth and death dates. On the reverse they will write a “five bullet point” summary for what made that person famous and why they chose him or her.

Allow each student to introduce their person in front of the class, why they chose this person, and what made them famous. Then display the cards around the room in a “Hall of Fame or Honor of Louisiana History”
