Each one of us from time to time needs a 'little something' to boost our class. The following simple lesson ideas are designed to lead into or re-enforce a lesson idea. Since not all of our books are from the same vendors, I decided to list them by time periods. If you have a lesson idea, play, or hands-on assignment that you like, send us a copy to help other teachers around the state. Remember that the material shared here is only a guide. None are perfect solutions for every problem or every classroom.

Go together along with many other websites to bring you some of the most fascinating and useful products for teaching Louisiana history anywhere. I tend to search books, magazines, and these sites almost daily in the effort to find something new and interesting for my students and then I offer it to you. Be sure to check the MENU on the left for many other ideas, topics, and sources. If you have anything Louisiana, American, or World history...send it.

Everyone needs one to tell their story

Students will create a simple 1/4 sheet of poster-board Louisiana  has made a great way to close out the year after their LEAP test. I have always been looking for fun activities that do not take a lot of time yet get them to tell a story about what they have learned. All I did was furnish the poster-board (cheap Wal*Mart packet of 1/2 sheets which I cut in another 12; making the 1/4 needed).  My students loved this project this year and .doc can be changed or modified, or added to for what ever you want during your year of teaching Louisiana history. Based on a project I downloaded from Ms. White's World history class.
